Alaskan Harvest Seafood pays 50% of the cost of shipping provided that the order is $120 or more and we charge our customers only the other 50%. The smaller shipments using Standard Delivery have a shipping cost of $29.95 up to a $300 value. Larger orders more than $300 are charged 10% of the product value. Overnight Delivery is $69.95 up to the $300 product cost and 10% + $40 on orders more than $300. Overnight is just faster, the product will arrive in identical condition whether shipped as Standard or Overnight.
All packages are sent via FedEx or UPS Delivery. However, depending on your location in the United States in some rare cases FedEx takes an extra day. Seafood is shipped in insulated boxes that have super cold coolant to keep products frozen during transit.
We have two types of shipments: Standard Delivery (takes between 1 and 3 days depending on the delivery location in the country) and Overnight Delivery. This will not change the way a package arrives, the condition or the contents of the package. We try to ship most orders on Mondays and Tuesdays so that we have a backup day in case the delivery company fails to deliver ontime.
All shipments are shipped as "Driver Released" and the package is left at your door. No signature is required.
We will pack the order accordingly so that it will last longer in transit. Overnight Delivery does not give anything more than faster delivery.
We try to avoid Friday deliveries if we can due to the fact that both UPS and FedEx miss delivery commitments from time to time and Friday delivery is dangerous - if not delivered the seafood wil thaw and spoil over the weekend.
Once the order is packed and shipped and in the hands of the delivery company, we will email you the shipping confirmation and the tracking number. If it is a plain number, the shipment is FedEx and if it starts with 1Z and has letters and numbers it is a UPS shipment. You can track the shipment on UPS or Fedex sites or simply place the tracking number into a Google search and Google will find the right package for you.
Rest assured, we make every effort to ensure delivery is on the date that you have requested (please note that Standard Delivery dates and between Wednesday and Friday).
